Kevin & I went out for supper one night after his work on early morning of March 31st, 2007 (Sharon's birthday). We went to Asia Cafe cuz he said his workmates would be there. So I decided to dress up & make-up abit so that I wouldn't make my boyfriend lose face in front of his mates for bringing out/dating such an "ah soh" girlfriend. So I wore the dress which I bought from Bali on top of my dark jeans.
We sat on separate tables from his mates and finished our food before walking over to greet the gang. I was abit shy, haha! I'm only brave & open with the ppl I'm familiar with. And this was one big gang of strangers to me, so you can imagine how I felt that time :P
Kev's kiss & my smug look!
We camwhored in Pelita before Sharon arrived
| permalink We stayed in Green Garden Hotel (5 mins away from the famous Kuta beach). Although the hotel is only rated 3 stars, we felt that very comfy staying there already. Sorta like exceeded our expectations oredi. The pool is just 3 steps away from our room door. Lovely! =) Since we arrived in Bali about 9pm, we decided to eat in our hotel instead. It was our first time to Bali anyway. We weren't familiar with the place here. After dinner, we all went for a short walk and we hopped on to a horse carriage ride which took us around the streets of Bali at night. Took us about half an hour to get back to our hotel. The ride cost us 100,000rp but it was worth it. But the ride was sorta wobbly the whole way so we were worried that the wheels might just come off! Thank God they didn't! :) This is the pool just right outside our room. It has a waterfall. Simply refreshing! =) The pic below is the corridor outside our room. We got free breakfast buffet vouchers for 3 persons for 3 mornings! Fabulous or what?! ;) I had soto ayam cuz Kevin told me soto ayam originated from Indonesia. But it was sorta tasteless for me. Maybe the hotel chef wasn't that great of a chef anyway! :P After brekkie, we went for our first personal tour around Bali on foot since we were a little bit familiar with the roads since we took the carriage ride yesterday night. Off we went, embarking on our shopping spree, hunting down the streets of Bali. Kawaii tourists alert! Before I came to Bali, I was chatting with Wendy on MSN. She recommended me to go to a restaurant in Bali which is by the beach and where there is a band who serenades patrons from one table to another. So I was just asking the hotel waiter whether or not he knew where that place was. And he said yes. Fantastic! He said that there was a free taxi ride to the restaurant. Double fantastic! ;) The restaurant is called Sharkey's and it's quite far away from our hotel. In the pic above I took of Kevin when we were on the way to Sharkey's, you'll see me in the pic too. When you enlarge the pic, you can see my reflection in the mirror, holding up the camera. Hehe! Well, when Wendy told me about Sharkey's, she failed to warn me about its prices. The dinner that night cost us almost 1 million rp, which is equivalent to RM390!!! But it was a good experience. We saw the sunset, enjoyed the seaside breeze, had a hearty feast and were serenaded. Hehe! We had lobster, tiger prawns, snapper fish, calamari, Bintang beer & mango juice (for Kevin). And the kangkung was on the house. Fabulous! =) After dinner, Tammy & I went out for a girl's night out to Bounty Club. Well, too bad no one else was in the club except for us two girls. We had two small Bintang beers each. It was happy hour then. Buy one, free one. Only cost us 20,000 rp each. This is the new Bounty Club. The old Bounty was bombed in 2001 at its old location. The pic above was taken in Bounty Club. Sexy cage! :P
| permalink We booked for a half day tour (about 6 hours) around Bali for our second morning here. The tour cost 300,000rp but after bargaining, we got it at 280,000rp. The pic below was taken while we were waiting for our tour driver to arrive. We went to Batik Centre, Gold & Silversmith Centre, Art Centre, Wood Carving Centre, Batur Sari restaurant (overlooking the volcano), Bali Zoo, coffee farm and Kuta beach. Initially, we didn't wanna go to the volcano cuz the half day tour package didn't include coffee farm (Jenny asked me to buy Bali coffee for her). The tour driver agreed to bring us to coffee farm but he also brought us to the volcano even though we agreed to exchange volcano for coffee. Hee hee! And we also incorporated Kuta beach inside the package. Therefore, we paid the driver 300,000rp for being so hospitable. Posing at the poolside with Kevin First stop - Batik centre Our ticket to enter Bali Zoo Walkway leading up to the animals How brave! ;) Even braver! :P At first, Kev & Tammy thought this orang utan was a fake. I told them if we wanted to see waxed dolls, we'd go to museum instead. In the zoo, every animal is real and I was right, this orang utan is real. Posing with the camel My turn now to pose with the camel Leopard: I'm too lazy to care about silly humans sneaking up on me when I'm resting It was foggy and it rained abit when we were up to see the volcano. It's somewhere beyond the hills. The volcano, I mean The view by the coffee farm while we were sipping the Bali coffee Ta-da! Bali coffee! Locals playing chess by Kuta beach without a care for the world Breathtaking views of the famous Kuta beach, Bali Free taxi ride from our hotel to Ngurah Rai airport We decided to have lunch in the airport where they would accept credit card cuz we were outta rp already! :P Bye bye Bali! :) Felt slightly hungry on the plane. This nasi lemak cost me RM7 on Air Asia. My first in-flight meal on Air Asia Arrived safely in LCCT, KLIA. Praise the Lord! We were waiting for our luggage
