I was in Penang for work from March 5th - 9th, 2007 with Suma. She drove us up. It was my first time there after almost 10 years!!! Can you actually believe that?! WoW! :) I didn't realize it has been so long since I last went to Penang. The last time I was there was with my school prefects' trip. We went there by bus and took a ferry ride into the island.
But it's been like almost 20 years since I last crossed the magnificent Penang bridge. I still remember I was very short and wore a very short baby girl dress then with my parents and Sharon. My youngest sis, Esther, hasn't even been born yet that time. When I crossed the Penang bridge for the first time after 2 decades, the feeling was just indescribable! =)
The first night Suma and I were at Penang, I couldn't contact my long lost friend, Michelle Quah (from TUBF). Haven't seen Michelle in 3 years since she last visited the TUBF gang in Sunway/Subang area. So Wendy brought us out to have supper in the famous Gurney Drive and a walk along the beach near Gurney Drive. Wendy's a sonographer in Penang Adventist Hospital now. She was previously a Vision College student. She was previously from Klang and had juz started working in Penang Adventist one week before CNY.
The second night, I finally got hold of Michelle (thanks to Mille). So Michelle brought us to makan dinner near Sunway Hotel, Penang. Forgot the street name liao but it's near Macalister Road.
After dinner, we met up with Wendy in Prangin Mall and jalan-jalaned for awhile before heading off to Cosmic Cafe for a drink. Cosmic Cafe is just outside Prangin Mall.
I'd say both Michelle and Wendy were very hospitable towards Suma and I during our short stay in Penang. "Remember to call me the next time you're coming to Penang, okie?" ~ those were the famous words that both Michelle and Wendy kept repeating to me. Haha, good! =) I'll be back cuz Penang is just simply beautiful! =) And I haven't seen enough of it juz yet.
